Rosa Clara Friedlander Logie was born on the Isle of Guernsey, an English possession off the French coast.

She moved to Sydney, Australia, where she met and married her husband, Charles Joseph Gordon Logie.

They migrated to the United States. During the first leg of their voyage, their ship hit a reef in the South Pacific and sank.

They lived on a tiny atoll for over a month until some of the men, including Charles built a small boat from the wreckage and then rowed and sailed it across over 100 miles of open ocean to an island near Tahiti, where they found a ship.

The survivors were rescued and the Logie's eventually made their way to American Fork, Utah, where they spent the remainder of their lives.
