Kenneth N. 'Ken' Jones
Man enjoyed being self-employed hog farmer
Kenneth N. "Ken" Jones, 72, of 30 Reader Road, Danville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Philadelphia, the son of the late Howard P. and Mary Rostien Jones.
A graduate of Council Rock High School in Bucks County in 1956, he served in the United States Army for three years.
Mr. Jones thoroughly enjoyed being a self-employed hog farmer.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Danville, where he faithfully served as an usher. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Thelma R. Fiedler Jones, whom he married July 6, 1963. Also surviving are three sons: Kenneth H. Jones and his wife Laurie of Danville; Daniel Jones and his wife Michelle of Millville, and Howard Jones II and his wife Adria of Danville; and two daughters: Bonnie York and her husband Andrew of Shamokin, and Deborah Jones of Danville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Brittney, Aaron, Nathaniel and Collin York; Anthony, Elijah, Samuel, Caleb, and Crystal Jones and Lia Jones. He is also survived by one sister, Roberta Schneider of Hatboro; and several nieces and nephews, including James Jones.
He was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Lauren and Burgandy Jones; by one brother, Howard Jones, and one sister, Norma Cutting.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Monday, April 5, 2010, at noon at First Baptist Church, 20 Brookside Drive, Danville, with the Rev. Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dawes Dunham. Burial will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery, Danville. Friends will be received from 10 until 11:45 a.m. at the church.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville, Pa.
