Elmer L. Tilson, 67, Route 2, Powderly, died at 5:05 a.m. Thursday in McCuistion Hospital in Paris.
A retired Natural Gas Pipeline employee from 1952 to 1979, he was a native of Lamar County and had lived in Paris for the past seven years after moving from Fritch.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII and a member of the Church of Christ of Powderly.
He is survived by his wife, Cordelia Tilson of the home, two daughters, Martha Baker and Carolyn Mathews, both of Fritch; one son, Stanley Tilson of Portland, Ore.; a stepson, Denny Hines of Powderly; two sisters, Edith Smith of LaPuente, Calif., Eudora Beste of Kingman, Ks.; two brothers, Hobert Tilson of Moore, Okla., Robert Tilson of Bonham; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. John Kimbro, minister, officiating.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
