Charles Pringle Boyce was born August 10, 1853, at Fairhaven, Ohio. He died in Keokuk Iowa on February 24, 1950. He went west to Kansas with his family but returned to Keokuk area sometime prior to the date of his marriage on February 15, 1883 to Katherine Marie Johnson in Lee County, Iowa. She was born April 2, 1863 at Galland, Iowa and died February 7, 1941 in Keokuk. Both are buried in Sandusky cemetery, Sandusky, Iowa. After his marriage, Charles Boyce moved to Blanchard, Iowa where his oldest child was born in 1884. Their second child born in Sterling Kansas in 1887, and their third child was born in Coldwater, Kansas in 1889. In 1890 they returned to Sandusky which became their permanent home. He was a farmer and also the operator of a vegetable cannery in Sandusky. Some of the vegetables he raised on his farm, others were contracted for from neighboring farmers. He specialized in canned tomatoes and green been. Cannery help was obtained from neighboring women. He was also a part-time carpenter. He was a member of the Christian Church, and in politics he supported the Socialist Party as than organized.

Elijah Williamson, minister of the Sandusky Christian Church, writes in his diary on February 15, 1883 "Warm, thawing; but snow is deep. I am better (He had a bad cold) Married C. Boyce & K. Johnson

At time of death he was living at 2800 Main Street, Keokuk, Lee County,Iowa
