BETTY LOU BATES, 81, of Keytesville, MO died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. Betty was born on October 21, 1928 in Salisbury, MO the daughter of Harry Jasper and Bernice (Webb) Cook. She married Robert Francis Bates on October 7, 1945 in Olathe, Ks and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1988.

Betty was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker, and for twenty years owned and operated B & B Package Liquor in Keytesville. Betty was a member of the Keytesville First Baptist Church, the Moberly Senior Circle and the Salisbury Senior Center.

A son Gary Bates and wife Marcy of Independence, MO, a daughter Vickie Stegner and husband Ron of Grain Valley, MO, three grandchildren Daniel K. Stegner, Steven M Stegner, Shanna Michael, two great grandchildren Alexander B. Stegner and Elena Michael, survive Betty. Her parents and brother Jim Cook preceded her in death.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 31, at 1:00 p.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with inurnment in Asbury Cemetery near Keytesville. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Keytesville First Baptist Church.
