The third of eight children born to Thomas & Sarah "Sally" (Harrison) Davis of Greeneville, Greene Co TN, Patience married John Kennedy on 14 Oct 1794 Greene Co TN, the son of Colonel Daniel & Margaret (Hughes) Kennedy of Greeneville, Greene Co TN. They had eight children, six sons and two daughters.

Greene Co Cemetery Records Book, Vol 4, Pg 456, Zion United Presbyterian on Camp Creek:
"Patience Kennedy w/John, 1-14-1842, age 69 yrs, 20 dys."
