Marjorie M. Zimmerman, 83, of Hampshire, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2000 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
    She was born February 8, 1917 inArlington Heights, the daughter of Louis and Mollie (Scheibler) Yohnke.
    Marjorie married Harold M. "Chief"Zimmerman on September 25, 1935 in Elgin. They were residents of Elgin for many years where Marjorie was employed by the David C. Cook Publishing Co. for seven years. Following several years in Mountain Home, Arkansas, they moved to Hampshire and were members of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Elgin.
    Marjorie was a Christian Lady who loved life and all those around her. She was adored by all and had a positive impact on all those she met. She loved the Lord and adored her family. She and her husband celebrated their "65th" wedding anniversary on September 25. The had lived a full life with many happy memories. She will be greatly missed.
    Surviving are her husband of 64 years, two daughters, Donna (Richard) Zierer of Plato Center and Sandra (Sherman) Schubbe of Hampshire; two sons,Michael (Sharon) Zimmerman of Palatine and Joel (Karen) Zimmerman of Foristel, Missouri; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn (Sam) Dykstra of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Albert Yohnke; and three sisters, Viola Drewelow, Ruth and Ann Yohnke.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, September 7, 2000 at theCalvary Lutheran Church, 535 N. McLean Blvd. in Elgin with the Rev. Richard Bellas officiating. Burial will be in the Hampshire Center Cemetery.
    Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St. in Hampshire and at the church of Thursday prior to service.
    Memorials in her name may be directed to the Asta Family Council.
