John Winfield was the son of John Hanson Buser and Margaret DeMoss Buser. He married Carrie M. Ingraham June 21 1884 in Muscatine County, Iowa. They had five children: Margaret L., George M., John M., Paul I., and Mary Elizabeth. He died in Oregon and was brought back to Iowa for burial.
