V. E. CHESHIRE, FORMER NELSON COUNTIAN, DIES - A former Gethsemane resident, Vincent Emmett Cheshire, 74, of Louisville, died Wednesday morning, February 8, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville. He had been in failing health for seven years. He was a retired employee of the old J. W. Dant Distillery at Gethsemane, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2208, New Haven. Surviving are three sons, Patrick Edwin, of Louisville; Vincent Eugene, of Somerset; and James Robert Cheshire, of Chesterfield, Missouri; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ann (Peggy) Strickland, Louisville; and Mrs. Mary Janet Taylor, of Norfolk, Virginia; five sisters, Sister Mary Estelle, S.L., Nerinx; Mrs. Catherine Bowman, St. Mary's; Mrs. Agnita Craven, Schereville, Indiana; Mrs. Alice Mae Hutchins, New Hope; and Mrs. Addie Cecil, of Louisville. The body is at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday. Visitation after noon Thursday.
