Wilson W. Sams of Phillips, local resident since 1944, died at North Plains Hospital Monday at 8:30 p.m. following a brief illness.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. from the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan B. Cameron, pastor, officiating.


Sams, 52, who resided at 4281 Phillips Ave., is survived by the widow, Lilly; four sons, Billy, stationed with the U.S. Army in California, Bobby and Jerry of Borger and Harlan of Guymon, Okla.


Also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Sams of Amarillo; six brothers, Howard and Bryan of Elkhorn, Calif.; Toy of Lubbock;, C.L. of Panhandle, G.W. and Clyde of San Francisco, Calif.; five sisters, Miss Emma Weatherly of Wheeler, Mrs. Velma Kline of San Francisco, Mrs. Nora Lee Carney of Paris, Tex., Mrs. Nell Lay of Bryan and Mrs. Doris Longbin of Estelline.


Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ed Brown Funeral Director.

Final rites for Wilson W. Sams of Phillips were to be conducted at 4:30 p.m. today from the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan B. Cameron officiating.


Sams, 52, who resided at 4281 Phillips Avenue in Phillips, died Monday evening at North Plains Hospital. He had lived in the Tri-City area since 1944.


Surviving are the widow, four sons, his parents, six brothers, and five sisters.


Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park was under the direction of Ed Brown Funeral Director.
