G.M. Landers died at Conway Memorial hospital at 2;45 a.m. today(Feb 26, 1943) following an illness of several days. His home was 709 Grove Street.
Mr. Landers was born April 15, 1889 in Saltillo community, a son of Robert B and Fannie Patterson Landers, pioneer citizen of the county.He was a member of First Baptist, Conway.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Della Jones Landers,four sons, Winfred of Conway, Lloyd of Honolulu Hawaii, Loyce of Fort Scott, San Francisco, Calif., George Landers of Conway: two sisters, Mrs Lizzie Hooks and Mrs Ethel Park of Saltillo and two grandchildren (Joanne and Phalba Jean).
Funeral service will be held at Doolin Funeral home at 4 p.m. Monday and burial will be in Oak Bowery Cemetery, southeast of Conway. Loyce Landers is expected to arrive from Fort Scott Sunday Night.

Three sons of George Milton Landers 53,whose death occurred at a hospital here Friday, will be among eight of the pall bearers for funeral services to be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Doollin Funeral home.Services will be conducted by Rev E.F.Simmons.Sons to serve Winfred, Loyce and George Landers.
The body of G.M. Landers was laid to rest in Oak Bowery Cemetery Monday afternoon. A double funeral was held at Doolin's Funeral home, a large crowd attended and then after the body was brought to the cemetery there was a service at the church, which a large crowd also attended. He leaves his wife and four sons, Winfred, Lloyd, Loyce and George Landers, two sisters, Mrs. E.L. park, and Mrs. J.A.Hooks and a large number of friends and neighbors to mourn his going. Rev. E.F. Simmons conducted the funeral services.
His funeral was held at Doolin's Chapel at 4 pm on 3-1-1943. The family moved into town (Conway) in 1923. George was 6 feet 3. He weighed around 220lbs. George use to farm 80 acres out at Sal Tillo. He raised 4 boys, had 4 horses, raised cotton, corn, pedaled meat in winter with Wes Marin. They would butcher in winter and take 2 days to go to Little Rock and sell the meat. Lloyd and Winfred got to go sometimes.Milton helped to build Ft Leonard Wood Mo, peddled meat in Little Rock when he was a farmer with Wes Martin. His first job in town was for Wideman Feed Co. He worked for Conway Corp Water dept., ice plant, during war Nesho Mo, Mameulle and in Mo. Ordance plant was a guard, the plant made petric acid for bombs, Marshela near Palarm and Ft Lenoard Wood Mo. They owned 80 acres and had corn and cotton in Sal Tillo community. They moved to town when Loyce was 8 years old. George used to plow with a mule.
