Mrs. Hattie McCawley Backert, 57, died at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday at her home, 8118 Minors Lane. She was a Louisville native and a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. She is survived by her stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cheek, and three brothers, Roy, Raymond, and Edward McCawley. The body will be at Heady Funeral Home, 1201 E. Oak, after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
