Funeral services for Willie G. "Snap" Coachman, 83, of Livingston were held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, from Garner Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Joe Plattenburg officiating. Interment followed in Victory Place Cemetery in Swartwout. Mr. Coachman died Jan. 1 in Houston. He was born Aug. 31, 1919 in Livingston, the son of the late Martha and Lee Coachman. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Ann Nowlin and husband Clarence of Houston, Mary Ann Lyons of Livingston and Esther Swanson of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; granddaughter, Chardai Thomas of Houston; sister, Lizzie Coachman of Livingston and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Kenneth Plattenburg, Clarence Nowlin, Lloyd Carter, Joseph Phlem, John Platterburg and the Rev. L.C. Youngblood. Honorary pallbearers were James Harrell, Christopher Plattenburg, Keith Plattenburg, Larry Ryans, Elgin Davis and Jeremy Youngblood.
