From the December 7, 1959 issue of the Illinoian-Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Luther R. Blansett, 1401 East 6th St., died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday at Schmitt Memorial hospital where he had been a patient since Friday. Funeral services will be held at 2 30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cline Funeral home. The Rev. Harold Peterson, pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the Cline Funeral home. Luther R. Blansett was born in Brown county December 20, 1882 the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Blansett. He was united in marriage to Mabel Ruby in 1900. Surviving are his wife and the following children, Glenn Blansett, Mrs. Lillian Glenn and Mrs. Jean Boice, all of Beardstown, Mrs. Marie Smith and Mrs. Maxine Vasconcellos of Jacksonville, three grandchildren, Jerry Boice of Beardstown, Carron Duncan and Skippy Vasconcellos of Jacksonville. Also surviving are two sisters Mrs. Jennie Kindhart of Camp Point and Mrs. Bertha Bennett of San Jose California and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, two sons and four grandchildren. He was a resident of Cass county for the past 60 years.
