Clara Etta Fox Mensch, 85, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 14, 1914, in Middletown, a daughter of the late Ira and Lovina Henry Fox. She was retired from the Mensch's Grocery Store in Swede Hill and was a life member of the Middletown United Methodist Church, where she was a former secretary and former Sunday school teacher and a member of the W.C.T.U. Clara was the first president of the graduating class at Harrold's Junior High School. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by her husband, Ralph C. Mensch; sisters, Catherine Trenney, Ellen Fox, Olive Baum, Florence Steiner and Lucy Altman; and a brother, the Rev. Charles J. Fox. She is survived by her children, Daniel C. Mensch and his wife, Rozella, of Greensburg and Kathleen Giles and her husband, Tom, of Greensburg; brother, Ira Fox of Dauphin; and sisters, Ruth Woodward of Middletown, Hilda Riddle of California and Emma Baird of Greensburg. Also survived by four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ross Giles and Rachel and Daniel Mensch; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Riley; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Additional viewing Friday from 10 till 10:30 a.m. at the Middletown United Methodist Church, at which time services will be held with the Rev. Kenneth Bossart officiating. Interment will follow in the Middletown Cemetery. The family wishes memorial contributions to the Middletown United Methodist Church.
