Obit: Frederick W. Alioth, 75, died Sunday August 27, 2000, at Sioux City, Iowa. A private graveside service was held Wednesday, August 20, at the Cushing Cemetery, Cushing, Iowa, with Pastor Kevin Lee of Morningside Lutheran Church, Sioux City, officiating. Pallbearers were Dennis Hoagland, Marc Grosczkrueger, Ron Lenz, Robert Margurite, Dennis Alioth and David Alioth. Burial was under direction of Armstrong Funeral Service. Mr. Alioth was born July 21, 1925, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Herman and Ella (Nation) Alioth. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Bouge during World War II from 1943-1946. On January 17, 1948, he was united in marriage to Bernice Greenwald in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He was employed at the Sioux City Stockyards, Concrete Products, Sioux City Foundry, and drove a gravel truck. He retired in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion F. Roger Baumann Post #624 of Cushing. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, two sons and their wives, Lester and Nancy of Correctionville, and Allen and Cindy of Sioux City; four daughters, Bonnie (Mrs. Dennis) Hoagland of Holstein, Iowa; Debra (Mrs. Marc) Grosczkrueger of Correctionville, Shari Petersen and her special friend Robert Margurite of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Sheila (Mrs. Ron) Lenz of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; one brother Roy and his wife Ricki of Venice, California; two sisters, Evelyn (Mrs. Paul) Whitted of Modesto, California; and Anne Bruggeman of Bangor, California; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ed, Emil and Heinie and one sister, Nettie Nelson.
