Arthur N. Taylor
Retired Welder, 88

A Warrenton resident for many years, Arthur N. Taylor died Tuesday, December 29, in Gearhart, Oregon from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident. He was 88.

Mr Taylor was born October 10, 1904, in Opolis, Kansas, the son of George and Mary Miksch Taylor, and attended school in Kansas. He lived for several years in Cushing, Oklahoma, where his family owned a welding shop and Mr. Taylor worked as a welder in the oil fields.

He married Flora Whicker on October 15, 1930, in Claremore, Oklahoma. She survives.

Mr. Taylor had lived in Lawrence, Kansas, before coming to Clatsop County. They lived in Seaside before moving to Warrenton in the 1940's. He had worked at the AMCO shipyards and at Tongue Point and had worked as a welder and steam fitter until he retired. He was a member of Philadelphia Church in Warrenton and an active member of the Steam fitters Union. He enjoyed fishing.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Sandra Taylor, Corvallis, and Keith and Mary Taylor, Gleneden Beach; two brothers, Herman Taylor, Cushing, and Harold Taylor, Pueblo, Colorado; three sisters, Betty Morgan, Irene Heidemann and Margaret Brennan, all of Cushing; and four grandchildren.

A grave side memorial service for Arthur N. Taylor, 88 of Warrenton, will be Saturday, May 29, at 11 A.M., at Ocean View Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor died in Gearhart, Oregon, December 29, 1992. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary, Astoria, is in charge of arrangements.
