Sarah McGlenon Brinson, 83, loving wife, mother and devoted friend, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 5, 2009. She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Lester Brinson. She was born June 22, 1925, and raised in Jefferson County, Fla., where she attended and graduated from high school. She worked for the State Treasurer's Office for many years before retiring from the Leon County Elections Office. She loved everyone and blessed the lives and hearts of many with her generous and loving nature. She will be deeply missed and will always hold a very special place in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday, April 8, at Harvey-Young Funeral Home (850-926-3333) in Crawfordville. There will also be visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. EDT Thursday, April 9, at Woodville First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. EDT Thursday, April 9, at Woodville First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodville Cemetery. She is also survived by three daughters, Glenda Lynch (husband Billy), Carolyn Brinson and Betty Bell (and Glen Carmichael; grandchildren, Kim Ouzts (husband Mike), Wendy Searcy (husband Terry), Daniel McKenzie (wife Michelle), Bonnie Jones (husband David) and Melanie Casey; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Redding; one sister, Sharon Winters; special and loyal friend, Hank Platt; and faithful pet, Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Eva McGlenon; two brothers, Johnny and James McGlenon; two sisters, Bessie Barfield and Hazel Blakely; and numerous nieces and nephews.
