Delphine "Del" H. Beatty, 92, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2007,at her residence. Del was born on December 13, 1914, at Silver Lake, Minnesota; the daughter of Matcuss and Martha (Mickowski) Nawrocki. She grew up on the family farm in Silver Lake (near Hutchinson). She moved to Minneapolis, where she completed beauty school, built a house and operated her own shop in Northeast Minneapolis for nearly 15 years. She was united in marriage to Russell B. Beatty on September 13, 1947, in Minneapolis.

The couple settled in the Cook area in 1948, where they since resided. They farmed for 25 years, mostly dairy farming. After Russell's retirement, Del completed Nurses Aid Training and was employed for years as a Nurses Aid at the Cook Hospital. She was a longtime faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cook and its Council of Catholic Women's Group. .

Russell and Delphine were well known for their yearly, abundant cultivated vegetable gardens and were instrumental in forming the Cook Area Farmer's Market, of which they supplied fresh vegetables for many years. She was a wonderful baker, and prolific canner, along with being an avid reader.

Delphine is preceded in death by her husband, Russell on December 11, 1992; a daughter-in-law, Jane Ann Skaja; 5 brothers - Alphonse, Henry, Joe, Leo, and Emmett Nawrocki; and 5 sisters - Helen Smigleski, Joan Jagodzinski, Margaret Kology, and Martha and Regina Nawrocki who died in childhood.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday (July 7th) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cook. The con-celebrants will be Father Joseph M. Thomas MCBS and Father Larry Antus OMI. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday (July 6th) at the Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook, with Parish Wake Service Prayers said at 7:30 PM. St. Mary's Choir will sing and Marjorie Miller will be the organist. Interment will be in the Cook Community Cemetery
