James 'Jim' Abbott

James "Jim" Abbott, 48, of Findlay, died on Sunday, March 28, 2010, in Martinsville, VA. He was born on May 28, 1961, in Monroe, MI to Harvey and Constance (Brickey) Abbott. His father, preceded him in death and his mother, survives in Newport, MI.
He is also survived by his sons: Stephen (Sarah) Abbott of Findlay, Sean (Kathryn) Abbott of Dayton and Daniel Ansel of Findlay; a brother, Henry (Rhonda) Abbott of MI; sisters: Margaret (Charlie) Scott of Findlay, Betty Dunlap of Hamilton and Gloria (Richard) Warthen of Newport, MI; grandchildren: Brayden Ansel and Emma Abbott; and his long time girlfriend, Sue Gillen of Findlay.
Also preceding him in death was a brother, Paul Abbott; sisters: Rose Ziegler and Jane Culver; nieces and nephews: Freddie Gedelian, Tanya Gedelian, Benjamin Abbott and Nicholas Abbott.
Jim worked for Cooper Tire and Rubber Company. He was an active member of the Moose Lodge #698, Amvets #21, American Legion Post 3, and Fraternal Order of Eagles #2118. He was also an avid Fan of motor racing and loved playing the Jukebox.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 2, 2010, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Reverend Chris Cravens officiating. Burial will be private in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in his memory.
