Their Huguenot ancestors settled and lived in this immediate neighbourhood. Here they lived and died And their descendants still continue to occupy the soil. It is to honour their last Resting place that this stone is erected by one of their descendants. A.D. 1855

Gravesite Details
Pooshee Cemetery is now under the waters of Lake Marion.Rene Ravenel's marker was moved to the new Black Oak Reinterment Site. His remains were left undisturbed and were covered with a concrete slab.
