Union, March 23. - Died. - At his home west of Union on the Knobs on Wednesday night, March 14, B J Mutter, aged about 69 years. On the Saturday preceding his death, Mr Mutter, Tazewell Phillips and C O Vass were covering a building the first-named was erecting. They were working upon a scaffold when it gave way and they fell to the ground, a distance of some 6 or 7 feet only. Mr Mutter fell upon a rock, Mr Vass falling on him. It was thought at that time Mr Mutter was not seriously hurt, but on Monday Dr Roles who was called to see Mrs Mutter (who had been sick) found her husband in a bad condition. Pneumonia had set in and he was dangerously ill. All was done for him that could be done, but on Wednesday evening at 7:30 he died.
