James "Doddle" Leslie Pridgen. Spring Hope. James "Doddle" Leslie Pridgen, 89, passed away, Monday, January 18, 2010. He was born in Nash County on December 19, 1920. He was the son of the late, Ernest and Morning Alice Baines Pridgen. Doodle loved playing rook and hearts with his friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Doodle was preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Pridgen, three sisters, Verna Mae Fulghum, Frances Hunt and Erdeen Lamm. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 63 years, Margaret Mangum Pridgen, one son Michael Leslie Pridgen and wife, Susan E. of Lancaster, SC., one daughter, Jeannette Pridgen Lowry and husband, Van of Charlotte, NC., one sister, Betty Bunn of Spring Hope, five granddaughters and nine, great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Ephesus Church with the Rev. David Eidson and Rev. Clark Rounds officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ephesus Church Outreach Fund at 7300 West Old Spring Hope Road, Spring Hope, NC. 27882.
