— Lowell E. "Jack" Ball, 84, of Rushville, died March 26, 2010 at Rush Memorial Hospital.

Born April 30, 1925 in Rushville, he was the son of Robert and Cloe (Foster) Ball, both deceased. He married Alice L. Biggs Dec. 18, 1970; she survives.

Mr. Ball was a 1944 Rushville High School graduate and captain of the football team. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

He was retired from Knauf Fiberglass in Shelbyville and also worked many years at Schnadig Furniture.

He worked with Dayton Springman as a painting contractor many years.

In years past, he was active in the Eagles Lodge, American Legion and a member of the Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters, Deedra (Ken) Barrows, Colleen Ball and Jennifer (Travis) Ervine; sons, David (Mary) Ball and Michael (Monica) Ball; step daughters, Kathy (Mike) Bussberg and Karla (Chris) Geise; step sons, Robert, Richard, Ronald and Ray Price; sisters, Judy (Lynn) Hill, Ellen (Charlie) Rogers and Linda Alford; one grandchildren; nine step grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and William, and grandchildren, Michelle Ball Uphaus and Dustin Goddard.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor George Huff officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in Orange North Cemetery in Fayette County.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Rush County, 1590 N. Sexton St., Rushville, IN 46173.
