Obituary: Mrs. Evelyn Cole Hinkhouse, 70, died at 1:45 a.m. today at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following an extended illness. She had been a patient at the hospital since Dec. 5. She was born May 22, 1881 near Kellogg, the daughter Ulysses S. and Sarah Eutsler Cole. Her father died when she was a small girl and she moved with her mother to Cedar county in 1890. She was married to A.J. Hinkhouse December 21, 1904. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. She is survived by her husband, two sons, N.R. Hinkhouse, West Liberty, and E.O. Hinkhouse, Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel M. Crabtree, Hermosa Beach, Calif.; three brothers, Ernest Cole, Cedar Rapids, Clinton Cole, Rapid City, S.D., and A.B. Cole, of Atalissa; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two brothers and one sister. In charge of funeral arrangements is the Anderson Funeral home of West Liberty. The body will be taken to the family home, 317 East Third street, Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church in West Liberty at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Clinton J. Frank officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery.
