Robert was the son of William Stewart and Ella Jane McKinley. on 5 Jun 1912 Robert married Ella Winterbauer. Robert and Ella had two daughters: Maxine Elanore and Virginia.
Robert was stricken fatally at his home, 206 North Monroe Street, Freeburg, and pronounced dead upon arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was 81.
Robert was the retired service manager of L. R. McKinley and Sons Chevrolet Company. Robert was associated with the local auto firm for 35 years. He had been in failing health about a year, and seriously ill the past three weeks.
Robert was a member of First Methodist Church of Freeburg.
The obituary lists the following survivors: his wife, Ella; two daughters, Maxine, wife of Clifford Lannert, Freeburg, and Virginia, wife of Fred Weber, Ashland, Ohio; a sister Ethel, wife of Richard Murray, Dunkin, Okla.; a brother, W. M. Stewart, Vego, Tex., and two grandsons, Stewart and Kent Lannert. A grandson, Fred H. Weber III, died last June 18 at the age of 20 in a drowning accident; Mr. Stewart also was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Funeral services were at the George Renner and Sons Funeral Home in Freeburg with burial in Lake View Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Joh Hunt, pastor of First Methodist church, Freeburg, officiated.
