Joe was named for his father's friend Joseph H. Moore, along with his grandfather Joseph Pierson. He was a graduate of The Pennington School. He married Marie S. Hartman on 27 Oct. 1934 in Hamilton Twp., Mercer Co., NJ.
He served as Deputy Clerk of Mercer County, NJ, and for many years as Hopewell Borough Clerk. He was also Mercer County Republican Chairman at one time, a Mercer County Tax Commissioner, Hopewell Borough Treasurer at one time, etc.
Joe and Marie had no children of their own, but were beloved aunt an uncle to generations of nieces and nephews. He will long be remembered for his sense of humor and his countless animated, colorful (and sometimes off-color) stories and anecdotes.
