John E. Emrich, 81, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at Indiana Masonic Home Hospital. He was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Indianapolis. He was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Indianapolis. His parents were John V. and Frieda (Bartholomai) Emrich. He married Pauline (Tuttle) Emrich on Aug. 25, 1948, in Indianapolis. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, Jack, John and Jay Emrich, all of Indianapolis, and James Emrich of Amboy; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick J. Emrich; and three sisters, Margaret Emrich, Elsie Klinge and Julia Wise. He was employed by Rough Notes as a press room foreman for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a paratrooper. He was past master of Southport Lodge 270 F&AM. The Rev. Cleon H. Wright will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary, with a Masonic memorial service at 7:30 tonight. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
