She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph E. Alesi, to whom she was married for 70 years. Born in the West End of Boston, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Olga Marie (Baronofska) Bronetzki. A Back Bay resident for 15 years, she attended the Boston public schools then transferred and graduated from the Girls Latin School, Class of 1929. Born into a family of musicians, Mrs. Alesi was surrounded by music. She played the violin and piano, and composed music and poetry, the later for which she received an award. She also enjoyed languages including the study of Latin and French, and could read, write and converse in Russian. She especially liked the challenge of memorizing prayers in foreign languages including Spanish, Hebrew, Portuguese, and one of her more recent hobbies was the study of patron saints. In her younger years, Mrs. Alesi worked at the Mass General Hospital and Baker Memorial front desk and emergency room, at the newsstand at former Statler Hotel, and proofreading for Relief Printing and Writewell Printing, both of Boston. Her favorite place of employment was at The Atlantic Monthly. At the age of 70 she was employed by the former Digital Equipment Corporation as an editor and proofreader for their promotional series publications. In her later years, she kept her mind sharp by doing New York Times crossword puzzles and playing a four octave keyboard at her kitchen table. A devout Catholic, she kept her family and friends in her prayers, especially her late husband and a child who died at the age of two years old in 1935, and her beloved great-grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles Bronetsky and Jeanette Floccher.
