Funeral arrangements for Miss Mary Irene Pierre, 87, who died at Estes Glen Haven Nursing Home Saturday, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hayes Chapel Funeral Home with burial in the Backbone Cemetery near Elrod.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Maude Bobo of Ashville, N.C., Mrs. Clara Rushing and Mrs. Emile Snow, both of Northport; three nieces, Mrs. Maxine Davis of Ashville, N.C., Mrs. Sarah Brown and Mrs. Dianne Jackson, both of Northport; and a nephew, Joe T. Rushing of Northport; and several grand nieces and nephews, also from Northport.
Active pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Shirley, Mr. and Mr. David Perrin, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Rushing, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Griffin, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Griffin, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rushing, Minor Medders, Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Langston, Mrs. Ellis Turner, Mr. and Mrs. George Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Tubb, Veterans of World War I Auxiliary No. 2467, and others.
She was a registered nurse who served in World War I and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
