Hyatt L. Hawk, well-known building contractor, died Wednesday, November 11, 1942 at 10:40 a.m. in his home in Manorville. Death came suddenly although he had been ill for the past several days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennifer Shaul Hawk; six children, E. Stanley Manorville, Russell E., With the US Army; and Mary Louise, Doris Jean, Norma Anna, and Hyatt L. Hawk, Jr., all at home. Also surviving are five brothers, Ben S. Hawk, Sr., Kittanning: Dr. M.C. Hawk, Chicago, Ill; Dr. M.E. Hawk, Kittanning; W. M. E. Hawk, Miami, Fla.; and Herbert Hawk, of Texas; and six sisters, Mrs. Hays MacDanald of Applewold; Mrs. Harvey Waugaman, Cabot; Mrs. Grace Albright, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Charles Simpson, Verona; Mrs. Homer Ruff, Lima, Ohio; and Mrs. Clifton Richard, Delaware, Ohio. Mr. Hawk was a faithful member of the Manorville Methodist church, where he had been superintendent of the Sunday school for a number of years, a member of the official board, and was active in all of the affairs of the church. He was also a member of the Armstrong Post 122, American Legion of Kittanning. Friends will be received in the late home in Manorville until time of the funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Services will be held in the Manorville Methodist church in charge of a former pastor, Rev. C. J. Bland of Saltsburg. Burial will be made in the family burial plot in Manor Cemetery.
