Parents: Jonas Judd & Amanda Melvina (Ewing) Hail Service: Enlisted 25 February 1862 in Crockett as a private in Captain John J. Smith's Company, Burnett's 13th Regiment, Texas mounted Cavalry. Commissioned as Captain in September 1862.

The following was published in the Crockett Weekly Courier Friday November 13, 1896:

The new Commissioners' Court for the next two years will consist of: E Winfree, Judge; CB Isbell, GM Thompson, WE Hail and TC Lively.

Wilson E Hail was elected Sheriff of Houston County on August 2, 1858 and served until August 4, 1862.
