Sharon Elaine Parks was born on July 8, 1941 to Samuel C and Henrietta Helen (Peppler) Befus in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in the Westminster, Colorado area and graduated from Westminster High School.
Following graduation, Sharon married and raised her family. She was a self-employed owner of a painting business and later was an over-the-road transport driver with her husband, John.
Her passions included her artistry as a painter and in stained glass fabricating. In addition to these, she was also a gifted seamstress.
Having caught the fever from her father, Sharon was an avid, lifelong fisherman and enjoyed living on the gulf where she frequently fished off the Florida coast. She also loved antiques and was known to frequent garage sales, old ghost towns and antique shops in search of antique treasures.
She was a member of The Women's Auxiliary of the VFW. The Marine Corp League and The Society of Decorators and Painters. She was Confirmed in the 1st German Congregational Church in Globeville and was also a former member of the 1st German Congregational Church. Sharon is lovingly remembered as a kind and generous person.
She passed away on April 28, 2001 at University Hospital in Denver.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father; her son, Bobby in 1996; and her husband, John Parks in 1999.
She is survived by her mother, Hattie; her children, Laura Uribe of Arvada, Co; Ken Robertson of Spring Hill, Fl; John Scott Parks of New Orleans, Louisiana; Chris Parks of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Patrick Parks of Columbus, Ohio; and Debbie Dodge also of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Evonne Hedenskog of Broomfield, Co; Patricia Ann Stricker of Mesa, Az; and Debra Voyles of Leadville, Co; one brother, Samuel E Befus of Broomfield, Co; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
