Gerald R. Hargrove of Winter Haven died of heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2001) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 55.
Born in West Union, Iowa, on Aug. 28, 1946, he came to Winter Haven from there in 1946. He was a builder for J.T. Smith Contractor. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Presbyterian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elbert C. Hargrove. He is survived by his mother, Marie Louise Hargrove, Winter Haven; sister, Betsy Hargrove Gordon, Birmingham, Ala.; and brothers, Larry C. Hargrove, Charleston, S.C., and David C. Hargrove, Tallahassee.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at Steele's Family Funeral Services, 207 Burns Lane S.E., Winter Haven. Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
