LAWRENCE - Charles Henry Clinard, 88, 322 E. James Street, Lawrence, passed away at his home Monday morning following a long illness.
He was born March 19, 1876 in Van Buren County, the son of the late Zimri and Elizabeth Clinard, a resident of Lawrence for the past 50 years. He was a retired farmer.
His wife Viola, one son Harley B., and one daughter, Katherine, preceded him in death. He is survived by : one daughter, Mrs. Velva Cushman, Lawrence; two sons, Cecil of Southfield, and Charles of Kalamazoo; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Disbrow of Hartford; two half-sisters, Mrs. Etta Frazier of Hartford and Mrs. Myrtle Phillips of New Orleans, La; 12 grandchildern and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sisson Funeral Home, with the Dr. Fred Boothby of the Lawrence Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial was in the family lot at Hill Cemetery.
