Funeral services for Mr. J. A. Morgan, 77, of Springhill, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002 in the chapel of Bailey Mortuary with the Rev. Glenn Ketchum officiating and the Rev. Garth Collier assisting. Burial followed in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary Inc. of Springhill.

Mr. Morgan passed away Friday, Feb. 1, in the Springhill Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was a life long resident of Springhill and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Nancy Dover Morgan; and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eva Rae Morgan of Springhill; his two sons, Gary Morgan and his wife, Marcia and Dalton Morgan and his wife, Kathy of Sarepta; daughter, Connie Cox and husband, Harmon, of Cotton Valley; three brothers; five sisters; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
