George Alfred Benware died at the VA Hospital in Hartford, VT on February 4, 1993. He was born on February 14, 1926 in Cavendish, VT; the son of Peter and Regina (Sylvester) Benware.

He married Madeline Elaine (Hall) Smith on December 31, 1953 in Newport, NH.

He served in the U S Army from September 28, 1944 to March 24, 1947. He was a long time resident of the Claremont/Charlestown, NH areas. He was associated with the Electrolux Corp as a salesman and recently as a service manager until his retirement in 1987. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Charlestown, a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Moose Lodge all in Claremont.

He leaves his wife of Claremont; daughter Charline M Hagen of Portsmouth, NH; two stepdaughters Sandra Lee Austin of Leominster, MA and Donna M LeClair of Claremont, NH; a stepson Mark D Hall of Claremont; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother Edward Benware of Cordes Lake/Mayer, AZ; and three sisters Evelina Benware of Ascutney, VT, Regina Newton of Chester Depot, VT, and Helen Billings of South Royalton, VT.

Burial is in Mtn View Cemetery.
