Kanabec County Times (Mora, MN), 26 April 1923, page 3: "JACOB BRANDSTROM. Mr. Jacob Brandstrom was born in Umea, Vasterbotten, Sweden, March 26th, 1859, and was united in marriage in 1883 to Miss Alma Olson, this union was blessed with 5 children, of whom all are living. In the year 1892 the Brandstrom family came to America and located on a farm in Comfort township, Minnesota, where they resided until the year 1912, when they moved to Grass Lake, where they resided on a farm until 1918. In 1918 they moved into the village of Grasston where they have lived since. Mr. Jacob Brandstrom passed away Saturday, April 14, 1923, at the age of 64 years and 18 days. He leaves to mourn him, his wife, Mrs. Alma Brandstrom and 5 children, they are: Mrs. J. P. Gotfredson of Comfort, Mr. Carl Brandstrom of
Savage, Mont.; Mrs. Carl Edgren, Elvera and Carl Brandstrom of St. Paul, 9 grand children, one brother and four sisters in Sweden, one brother in Canada and one sister, Mrs. Peter Anderson of Grasston, and
many other relatives and friends, both here and in Sweden. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Friday, April 20th, at 2 p. m., Rev. Franklin officiating. Interment will be made in the Baptist cemetery in Grass Lake. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family. Blest be his memory. — Grasston Advance."
