Dwight's death notice appeared in the Herald & Review (Decatur, IL)on April 13, 2002, page A6.

On 4 Aug 1951 Dwight married Clara Jo Church. Dwight and Clara had the following children: Sheri Lynn and Lisa Rae.

Dwight was a Staff Sargent in the Navy for one year. After his discharge, Dwight re-enlisted on August 6, 1950 in the Air Force. After bootcamp, Dwight served three years in Washington, DC, as a staff car driver for the Air Force. On 5 Sep 1953, Dwight was discharged from the Air Force.

Later in his life Dwight worked as pilot for World Color Press.

Survivors include: Dwight's wife, Clara Jo; daughters, Sheri Lynn and Lisa Rae; granddaughter, Courtney Nicole.

Services were at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with burial in Marissa City Cemetery.
