He was born Heinrich Gottlieb BJICK in Poganitz, Kreis Stolp, Pommeran, Prussia son of Friedrich BJICK (1825-1874) Poganitz,Kreis Stolp,Prussia Germany and Auguste SCHMOKEL (1825-1872). Henry came to America in 1893 and lived with his sister Bertha and Otto WENZLAFF until he brought his wife to be Emma Augusta BOROWSKI to America in 1894 and they married Jan 5, 1895, at St. Peter's Church located at the corner of 4th Street and University Avenue in Champaign, Illinois. His American name was Henry Gottlieb Beck. He died of stomach cancer.
