Willie Ruth Harris Burton, age 89 of Waller, passed away on March 26, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Burton; sister, Audrey Niedson; and brothers, Ray Harris, and Alex "Bookie" Harris Jr.
She is survived by her son, George W. (Bill) Burton and wife Jodie; daughters, Carol Hankins, June Falks, Susan Brewington and husband Jim; brothers, Clarence Harris and wife Patty, and Roy Harris and wife Paula; sisters, Myrtle Somerford, Catherine Zafoot, and Mildred Baskin; grandchildren, Sheri Matson, Gary Burton, Jeffery Burton, Kristin Legg, Kimberly Cashiola, Michael Falks Jr., Stacia Forsythe, and Melissa Simms; 12 great grandchildren; and caregivers, Eva Sue Smith and Viola Ramos.
Willie Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and Aunt Tootie to many. She was also a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Visitation was held on be Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 4 to 7pm at Canon Funeral Home.
Funeral Services were conducted on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Canon Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Andy Chute and Harold Clayton officiating, and Tim Burgess, soloist. Interment followed at Canon Mathis Cemetery.
