Son of Bill Koroulis and Marena

Married Dixie Anderson, 19 Dec 1969

Obituary. George Koroulis, age 75, passed away at home with his loving wife, Dixie, by his side on January 5, 2007, in St. George, Utah; finally giving up a long, valiant fight with pain and declining health. He will be sorely missed by friends and family, where his quiet dignity will always be etched in our hearts.

George B. Koroulis was born August 31, 1931, in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Bill and Marena Koroulis. George's father died when he was only 21/2 years old and George moved with his mother to Farmington, Utah. George worked on his stepfather's farm where he learned the value of hard work and determination. He developed industrious habits at an early age, qualities that served him well throughout his life.

George went to Farmington Elementary, Davis High School, Weber State University and then enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 19 where he served for four years. He then attended the University of Utah, and at the age of 26, became the Lincoln-Mercury Dealer in Bountiful, Utah. For more than 35 years George managed this and many other successful enterprises but his first dealership in Bountiful was always his baby and was where he maintained his office until he retired.

George married the love of his life, Dixie Anderson, on December 19, 1969. They have enjoyed 37 years together in Bountiful and St. George. Their home was a place of many parties, holiday dinners, and gatherings of friends and family.

In his final years, beset by heart problems, George was always a fighter, even volunteering for a specialized heart trial. George was an example of endurance and strength, and his final months were a source of inspiration and encouragement. He has touched many lives with his example of hard work and words of support and motivation. We cherish his memory and his love for all of us.

George is survived by his devoted wife, Dixie, of St. George, Utah; sister, Mary Michas of Portland, Oregon; cousin, Soph Kourbelas of Bountiful, Utah; and many friends, nieces and nephews who will miss him immensely. He was preceded in death by his mother; father; and brother, John. He is now in a glorious reunion with them.

Dixie and George wish to express due appreciation and love to the wonderful staff at the Heart Failure Clinic in Salt Lake, St. George Intermountain Home Health Care, and to their wonderful friends and family.
