Billy Joe Greer, age 73 of Salyersville, KY, formerly of Thelma, KY passed away Saturday, April 30th, 2011 at the Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville, KY.
Billy was born July 31st, 1937 at Auxier in Floyd County, KY, to the late Joe and Lottie Booth Greer. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by twin sister, Barbara Cloe Greer, and baby sisters Brenda Joyce Greer, and Eulah Greer who died in infancy, sister Geraldine Greer Craft and brother-in-law Dewey Craft of Meally, KY and brothers-in-law John Collins of Prestonsburg, KY and Seldon (Sid) Endicott of Thelma, KY who also preceeded him in death.
Billy is survived by one brother Bob Greer, of Beckley, WV, two sisters, Maxine Greer Endicott of Thelma, KY and Earnestine Greer Collins of Prestonsburg, KY and a host of nieces and nephews.
Billy Joe was previously a resident of Thelma KY but for the last several years he resided at the Salyersville Health Care Center in Salyersville, KY where he had many friends and special aquaintances.
Billy will be buried at the family cemetery at Whitehouse, KY beside his loving mother and father.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Roger Thornsbury officiating. Burial will follow in the Joe Greer Cemetery at White House, Kentucky. Friends may call from at Jones-Preston Funeral Home 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011.
