Howard A. Brinley of Long Branch died of paralysis Monday afternoon at the age of 72 years. He had been in poor health since the first of the year, when he suffered an attack of grip.
Mr. Brinley was born at Long Branch and had always lived there. He served for three years with the New Jersey volunteers in the civil war. Mr. Brinley had served as assessor of Ocean township and assistant postmaster at Long Branch under Cleveland's administration. Mr. Brinley was a member of the Long Branch Masonic lodge and was its oldest pastmaster. He leaves a widow and a daughter.
