OBITUARY of Majorie Kochititzky
Marjorie Richards Stephenson Kochititzky, 87, died April 13. A memorial service will be held April 16, 1:30pm at St. George's Episcopal Church in Nashville; and a graveside service April 19, 3pm at Friendship Cemetery, Rev. James Carlyle officiating. She was born in Mobile, AL, grew up in Columbus, and graduated from MS State College for Women. She served her community in Nashville, TN for 63 years in many ways, including PTA, Scout Leader, and as president of the Medical Auxiliary.
She was a member of Cheekwood, Hermitage Assn., Centennial Club & Belle Meade Country Club. Marjorie served as Chair of the Altar Guild at St. George's Episcopal Church for over twenty years, where she was responsible for needle-pointed communion rail kneelers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Grady & Corinne Holloway Richards Stephenson; daughter, Katherine Kochtitzky Hunt; and brother T.G. Stephenson, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Morse Kochtitzky; son, Rev. Rodney Kochtitzky; daughter-in, law Jane Hardy; grandchildren, Will & Tom Kochtitzky; sisters-in-law, Shirley Stephenson of Meridian, Jane Kochtitzky Quin & Julia Wade Kochtitzky Franklin (Ike) of Columbus.
