GILAH T. MCCOY

Funeral services were held at the Lavender Funeral Home in Albion on Tuesday Jan. 28 for Gilah T. McCoy, 74, of Fullerton, formerly of Albion. Mrs. McCoy died on Friday, Jan 34, 1975 at Fullerton.

The Rev. Lester V. Anderson officiated in the funeral and Mrs. Herbert Knudson was the organist. Pallbearers were Bud Grass, Bob Spiegel, Orvil Maricle, Bill Zebks, Jim Fox Jr. and Herb Neldhart. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Gilah Theodosic Turnbaugh was born in Larnad, KS on August 12, 1900, the daughter of James R. and Emma Best Turnbaugh. Her father died when she was five years old and her mother brought the family to Nebraska. She graduated from Bladen High School with the class of 1919.

She was united in marriage to Ira McCoy on Sept 15, 1919. Mr. McCoy preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1971.

Mrs. McCoy was a member of Pearl Rebekah Lodge No. 337 in Albion for many years.

Mr. & Mrs. McCoy operated McCoy's Market in Albion and later operated a grocery store in St. Edward in partnership with her late brother-in-law, Frank McCoy. The McCoys were long time residents of the Fullerton Manor in Fullerton.

Mrs. McCoy is survived by two daughters, Bytha Morris of Oakland, CA and Bernice Davis of Lorton, VA; one son, Wesley McCoy of Osciola; one brother C.R. Turbaugh of Livermore, CA; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Richendler of Bladen; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
