PIONEER RESIDENT DEAD
AGED NINTY-THREE YEARS
In the death of Mrs. Kate Coffey, which occurred about 8 o'clock Monday evening, Anaconda loses a beloved pioneer resident while her relatives are bereft of a loving and loved woman. Within a few years of being a centenarian, she came to Anaconda nearly a quarter of a century ago and during her many years' residence in this city she made a wide circle of friends.
Mrs. Coffey, who has been a widow for many years, was born in the county Kerry, Ireland, 93 years ago. Until an accident that resulted in an injured hip about a year ago, the woman was as spry as though but half her age. She was bright and cheerful to the last and shortly before the end came to her long life, she called the surrounding relatives to her side and bade them good-bye and passed away with a smile on her kindly face.
The funeral will be held from St. Paul's church Thursday morning at 9 o'clock and interment will be in Mt. Carmel.
The surviving relatives are Mrs. John Sullivan, 704 Alder street, where she died; Mrs. John Coyne and Mrs. Peter Curley, also of this city, daughters of deceased; Mrs. Thomas Toner and Mrs. P. C. Sullivan, daughters, living in Seattle, and a son, John Coffey, who is located at Portland.
