James C. Mattingly, 59, of 2241 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died Saturday, June 8, 1985 at Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. He was born in Cloverport, was a retired employee of Sound Design in Indiana, a veteran of World War II and a member of the Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Louise Glenn Mattingly; four sons, Steve, Roy, Robert and Calvin Mattingly, all of Ferdinand, Ind.; two stepsons, Louis Glenn of Owensboro and Harry Glenn of Kirkwood, Mo.; two daughters, Linda Hess of Cannelton, Ind., and Judy Fitzwater of Wheeling, Ill.; two grandsons; two step grandchildren; three brothers, Hewlett Mattingly of North Caroline, Roy Mattingly of Owensboro and John Mattingly of Lewisport; and three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hanks of Stephensport, Mrs. Grace Morgan of Hardinsburg, and Mrs. Ida Pate of Owensboro. Services are at 11 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial in Adath Israel Cemetery, Owensboro. Visitation after 1 P.M. today at the funeral home.
