Gladys Costa, 84, died March 23, 2010, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Paul E. Costa, Sr., her husband of 58 years.

Born October 25, 1925, in Norrisville, Md., Gladys was the daughter of the late Solomon and Creola (Thompson) Blevins.

She was a charter member of the Shrewsbury Assembly Of God. She enjoyed cooking and singing in the church choir. Gladys worked as a seamstress for the former Stewartstown Sewing Factory and with her husband as the co-manager of the former Leisureville Apartments in York. Gladys will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Paul E. "Ed" Costa, Jr. and his wife, Lynn A. of York; a daughter, Cindy M.. Bostdorf and her husband, Robert J. of Stewartstown; a sister, Almeda Webb of Stewartstown; granddaughters, Bobbi S. McShane, Angela M. Hare, Marci L. White, and Lisa N. Malstrom; grandson, Jeffrey S. Malstrom; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.

Interment will be at New Freedom Cemetery, New Freedom.
