Died Thursday, Aug. 4, 1994, at Highland Park Hospital, Covington. He was 97, a resident of Baton Rouge, former resident of Hammond and a native of Chenal. He was a retired builder and U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday. Religious services at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Ratcliff. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by a daughter, Betty Jean Bartmess, Metairie; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Bateman Langlois, Baton Rouge; a son, James Ray Langlois, Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, Denise Burton, Atlanta, Ga., Melanie Bartmess, Seattle, Wash., Cynthia Prudhomme, Covington, Bryant Langlois, Baton Rouge, Brenna Himel, Walker, and Paige Langlois, Houston; and four great-grandchildren, Megan and Luke Himel and Matthew and Rachel Brown.

Preceded in death by wife, Ethel Williamson Langlois; and a son, Gerald Max Langlois.
